Day 1, Monday, March 2 Bozeman to Managua

Unfortunately, we experienced internet difficulties while in Nicaragua so were unable to post a blog each evening. There was a power outage the first day which took out the server for the compound. After a couple days that was restored, but for unexplainable reason the blog was inaccessible. We finally resorted to just emailing updates each evening to the school where Mrs.Walker was kind enough to forward them on to family and friends. However, uploading pictures was very cumbersome and slow and they finally just refused to upload at all after a couple days.

Now that we're home with fully functioning internet, we give you...The Blog!

After a long day of travel the team arrived in Managua at the Project H.O.P.E. compound just after 10 pm to a nice cool breeze and around 75 degrees.
The day started off a little chaotically because the plane originally scheduled was unavailable, leaving only a smaller one with 15 to 20 fewer seats.
God provided in a miraculous way as all 21 team members were able to get seat assignments.
Front: Nick Jackson, Daniel Newman, Vale May, Eli Gossack, Julie Gossack, Pat Goede, Janae Tormehlan, Landa Heys, Craig May
Back: Elisabeth Oswell, Lee Nuss, Jordan Nuss, Macy Shea, Vikki Alvarado, Michelle Shea, Gerry Goede, Emily Christoffersen, --------------, Jessica Kneeland
Missing: Miss Lundskog, who was grappling with passport issues in line

We flew from Bozeman to Minneapolis to Atlanta to Managua, spending time between flights together as a team and also looking for conversations with others the Lord put in our path.

This is one way of recharging....

...and this is another way.

The team all traveled in blue shirts and khakis … While in a very crowded part of the Minneapolis airport team member Craig May said, “There are so few blue shirts in this sea of people.”  It really made us stop and think of the spiritual application and the need for the Gospel to spread to so many more people all over the world.

“Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few.  Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.” –Matthew 9:37-38

Waiting for our bus to pick us up in Managua

"Surrendering" all electronics for the week
(Believe it or not, no one seemed to miss them at all!)
Tomorrow is breakfast at 7 am. We will then head out to House of Hope to do ministry in the morning and then in the afternoon we will head to the cancer ward at the hospital.

The team is excited and ready to serve. As the words to Starfield’s song, “I will go” state…

“I will go, I will go

I will go, Lord send me …”

May that be the prayer of our hearts this week and may we be intentional at each opportunity the Lord puts in our path to point others to Christ.
Please pray that we would abide in Christ and His Word would abide in us so that we may bear the fruit of His Spirit. (John 15:4; Galatians 5:22-23)

Thank you to everyone who has prayed, supported, given supplies and encouraged the team, therefore providing the opportunity for us to be here.  Know that “every time (we) think of you, (we) give thanks to our God (Philippians 1:3).”

The team sends love to you all!

-Miss Lundskog (for the team)
